Let's Have A Mass Debate

I haven't posted for a while, so here's something to think about. Does this clip represent Jarvis Cocker a) proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's the coolest man in pop, or b) demonstrating such desperation to be part of the Harry Potter franchise that he's happy to shed all self-respect and sing lines like:
"Get it on like an angry spectre
Who's definitely out to get ya"

  1. A. Definitely. It's Jarvis backed by Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway from Radiohead! What could be wrong about it?

  3. Definitely A - I think he just does stuff that's a bit amusing.

    Hence this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4FyZwAFZII

I heard a rumour that they wrote a whole album of Potter themed stuff as the Weird Sisters but J K Rowling wouldn't let them release it. Just a rumour though and a 5 second glance on Google couldn't help me get an answer. Frankly, I can't be arsed to look any further.

  4. One outcome of the mass debate might be to rate this a Cocker masturbate.

  6. Best of 2011 will be Hercule Potter in 'Murder on the Hogwart Express' in 2D or faux 3D. (In Live Opera Brunnhilde is presented in 38D).

  7. If you have Jonny Greenwood at the back playing the guitars like it's a real rock concert then definitely A. And why would he write songs with deep and meaningful lyrics for Harry Potter? He knows how to write songs for movies. The other song he wrote for HP Goblet, "Magic Works" was cheesy and corny but it was also appropriate.

  8. Looks like Cocker remains in the cool box then. Personally it makes me die a little bit inside but there you go.
