New Spider-Man Casting Is Perfect

Those of you who spent the weekend with your head in a bucket of strawberries and Pimm's will be thrilled to hear that the lead role in the ill-advised Spider-Man reboot has been given to British actor Andrew Garfield.

This is a massive relief for the interwebs because, after months of speculation about who might play the friendly neighbourhood web-slinger, we finally know what the new Spidey looks like. And he looks like this:

Garfield really looks the part, don'tcha think? I mean, if we look at all the other candidates for the role, I'm not sure any of them could really have done it justice:

  1. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." Sir Walter Scott writing Marmion in 1808 seems ahead of his time. How could he have anticipated CGI on the Internet?

The chioce of leading actor is all wrong, by the way. I'd have hired Little Miss Muffet as the casting director and make sure she sits on her pouffe (or tuffet as she calls it)for the auditions. She's been around since 1805 and still has arachnophobia and insits location caterers serve her with curds and whey.

  2. Haha - good work. Reminds me of every time a Dredd movie comes out and they try and pop the helmet on everyone with a whopping chin. At least you can see that bit!
Still can't work out why they haven't called Bruce Campbell for the new Dredd movie!

  3. When I say every time.... I mean every time they talk about it and inevitably balls up at the production stages.
