The Muppets Poster Is Etymologically Confusing
I don't know if The Muppets is trying to force the Americans to spell properly or the English to adopt Thanksgiving as a national holiday, but I suspect that it will fail at both.

It was Miss Piggy that insisted on Theatres. When accused of putting on airs she replied "Moi, pretentious!I hereby issue a writ of hocus-pocus."
ReplyDeleteGood effort America, but it's spelt C-I-N-E-M-A-S
ReplyDeleteIf that didn't have the annoying white text in the bottom left or the Kermit styled 'M', that would be a great looking poster
ReplyDeleteNATTKE is the UK's National Association of Television, Theatrical and Kinematographic Employees. This is the union to which most projectionists once belonged. The word 'Cinema' is absent from the description. Miss Piggy was nostalgic for the great days of the Kinematographic Theatres showing nitrate films that often caught fire and sometimes destroyed the whole building.
ReplyDeletePut Kine, Film and Cinema together and what have you got? KFC Kentucky Fried Chicken. Dustbins of KFC are what are delivered to Miss Piggy's location trailer. So, let's get on with the show....in a Movie Theatre..
